Christoph's passion has always been the men's ball catchers between the posts since he was about six years old. His first pair, a Christmas present, was made of red knit material with white strips of table tennis batons sewn on. The interest in this product did not let him go in the following years and so he began to collect the often not commercially available gloves of Profikeeper. He received his first pair in 1987 from the Augsburger Maria Aumann, the mother of the former FC Bayern keepers Raimond. Over the next few years, his passion for collecting led to many anecdotes, contacts and friendships, some of which continue to this day, as many of the former goalkeepers are still active as goalkeeping coaches in the professional field. In 1995, Christoph's collection sparked great interest in the adidas global corporation, and at that time, as a consultant in Herzogenaurach, Christoph pushed many things that would make the three-strip company one of the leading goalkeeper glove brands over time. The same applies to his subsequent work at PUMA. Inquisitive, Christoph always asked the professionals about their dealings and their preferences with their most important work tools. These were in many cases pleased with the great interest and, for example, readily filled out questionnaires. Also from the regular contact with the legendary Swabian glove makers of the companies reusch and uhlsport, Christoph was able to acquire a specialist knowledge for the development of the goalkeeper glove, which today has no equal. At the center of his professional career was always the goalkeeper as a person, which is why he is popular and appreciated in the whole professional scene. His advice and know-how, for example in the case of finger injuries, is often used by many professionals. After ten years at the Austrian online retailer KEEPERsport, which owed a large part of his fame to Christoph's successful marketing activities and, above all, his diverse professional contacts, he made the long-cherished dream of owning a goalkeeper brand come true with three friends.


POPE's Goalkeeper Gloves have been created solely from the greatest passion for the product. This impresses us with an ingenious simplicity and offers each goalkeeper a fantastic grip and feel for his job, without any described in any great words, but in the end useless bells and whistles, which makes a goalkeeper glove unnecessarily expensive. Apparently, the prices are no longer set limits, but we set with an amount of about 60, - € for our top model in this regard standards of reason.
